the FINAL dental adventure, thank God...

Yesterday @ 1030 AM, I went to the dentist to have the permanent crown installed on my bottom R canine ("eye tooth"). Dr Delaney didn't even need to numb me up because all he did was put a dab of cement inside the crown and seat it on the stump where the temp had been.he ground just a tiny bit off the outer surface of the crown so it doesn't sit up too high. completely painless. I go back next month to see the hygenist for a clean and polish. even though we took my camera, Kimball was in his "efficiency expert" time management mode and went off shopping while I was in the chair, so no gross pictures to post this time out.I swear, I've had so many surgical procedures in the last few years but have never managed to get any decent pics of the bloody aftermath.Kimball had some of my foot in the surgeons* office. when they took the temp cast off, but he could never figure out how to get them off his phone. that's a shame, because the nurse who cleaned it up before she put on the hard cast was really cute and I took a shot of her with my mangled/bloody foot cradled in her lap, and another one looking down her scrub shirt. (she was sitting on a little step stool while I was up on an examining table.- if u live in metro Atlanta, you may have heard a radio ad for Resurgens orthopedics. Dr Scott is with resurgens at their north Fulton hospital location.

Today is my Birthday, I am eleventy one today! since I don't have 111 friends, my family too ke to dinner at a favorite restaurant, 5 seasons brewing here in Atlanta.Although to an asult, birthdays are not about presents, I really racked up, with an awesome cook-book, some great gift cards and a waterpik. ( i asked for it). since buttoning a shirt with just my right hand is more difficult than it used to be with both. I usually wear a t-shirt unless I'm going to be somewhere that a tee is not acceptable, I go through tees like most people do underwear. Mom bought me a bag-full of Merona brand "soft tees" with a chest pockets i can stash my walkman in while we're in her car. (i'm not into the radio station she likes so i just put on my "noise cancelling" headphones, turn on the walkman and chill out

thank God THAT'S over.

Yesterday I had the final step in my plan of renewed dental health. a

deep cleaning of my gums called a "periodontal sSRP".

while not as hideously painful as some of my other recent dental adventures, it was certainly not pleasant. However, it was made somewhat tolerable by the fact that the hygenist was a beautiful blonde with lovely blue eyes who was leaning over me the entire time. She smelled really good too . Not of perfume or anything, just a fresh clean-clean girly scent.
she was so hot that I was tempted to summon up my mojo* and throw it on her until she mentioned how hard it was to make sure her 3 kids flossed correctly damn the luck.Damn it even more when she took of the surgical mask and I saw her cute little nose ring and pretty smile.sayexxee!

* yeah, like I have any mojo left. I used it all up years ago.

goodbye 2009 HELLO 2010

All is quiet on New Year's Day.
A world in white gets underway.
I want to be with you, be with you night and day.
Nothing changes on New Year's Day.
On New Year's Day.

I... will be with you again.
I... will be with you again.

Under a blood-red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspaper says, says
Say it's true, it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one.

I... I will begin again
I... I will begin again.

Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh, oh.
Oh, maybe the time is right.
Oh, maybe tonight.
I will be with you again.
I will be with you again.

And so we are told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day

MERRY X-MAS

Merry Christmas everybody! hope yours has been fantastic so far, because mine started out awesome! We started with our annual xmas breakfast, this year being scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and has browns. we don't have a toaster so Holley cooked the English muffins in the panini press. but everything else was lovely and delicious she's preparing a rather untraditional dinner of lamb stew in the crock-pot right now. I believe that in the UK they make Yorkshire pudding for Christmas, but since we aint brits, Lamb stew will be fine.To me, it's more about what you give than what you get, but I racked up pretty good this year. I got a bunch of hot sauces I look forward to trying, some Japanese rice snacks, and a vivitar shirt pocket video/ still camera.

Lordy, Lordy, Bubba's 40!

Yesterday was my brothers birthday. all of the family gathered @ our house for a festive taco party, because that's what he wanted. our sister and her husband brought the boys. our mom came out, and there was much feasting and merriment. in the morning, I made a large batch of my famous "mark Clark*" salsa, then Holley made chicken and beef for tacos and burritos. Holley even made cupcakes from scratch for the cake and ice cream dessert. Bubba's so fortunate. A lot of wives would have just bought a cake at the grocery store, but not Holley.her family gets everything home made. that's a good southern woman for ya. The local newspaper has an annual spouse and parents of the year essay contest. I'll try to remind Bub to write and submit an essay to nominate his spouse. we can't nominate our mom for the parent category because she doesn't live in Kennesaw.

super duper lunch y'all

mom and I hhad lunch for the 2nd time this week at a local sandwich shop called the big city deli". It were really good. last time there I had the "Chicago dog" because Bubba and I are afficionados. I used to love the "windy city grill" before it shut down because they had a really awesome dog, and decent chilli dogs too. anyhoo, the Chicago dog i had the first time wasn't the way I like them. the bun was too fluffy, the "green peppers" were really chopped pickled jalapenos and under the dog, making the bun soggy and there were 2 pickle spears instead of 1.
that might sound like nit-picking to you, but I believe if you describe something on the menu as a "Chicago style" hot dog, that;s what should arrive at the table. today, I ordered an Italian beef", which is basically an open faced roast beef sandwich on a hoagie roll, with sauteed mushrooms onions, green peppers and gardeniera topped with melted cheese. i ordered provolone cheese. when the sandwich came to the table, it was so big, i had to send it back to be cut in half. ( I can't handle a big hoagie or grinder with just one hand, and I usually have to get my burgers cut in half if they're kind of large. the sandwich was big enough that I brought half of it home to have for lunch tomorrow. If you're ever out in the kennesaw area, I highly recommend you give the BCD a try http://www.thebigcitydeli.com
