MERRY X-MAS

Merry Christmas everybody! hope yours has been fantastic so far, because mine started out awesome! We started with our annual xmas breakfast, this year being scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and has browns. we don't have a toaster so Holley cooked the English muffins in the panini press. but everything else was lovely and delicious she's preparing a rather untraditional dinner of lamb stew in the crock-pot right now. I believe that in the UK they make Yorkshire pudding for Christmas, but since we aint brits, Lamb stew will be fine.To me, it's more about what you give than what you get, but I racked up pretty good this year. I got a bunch of hot sauces I look forward to trying, some Japanese rice snacks, and a vivitar shirt pocket video/ still camera.

Lordy, Lordy, Bubba's 40!

Yesterday was my brothers birthday. all of the family gathered @ our house for a festive taco party, because that's what he wanted. our sister and her husband brought the boys. our mom came out, and there was much feasting and merriment. in the morning, I made a large batch of my famous "mark Clark*" salsa, then Holley made chicken and beef for tacos and burritos. Holley even made cupcakes from scratch for the cake and ice cream dessert. Bubba's so fortunate. A lot of wives would have just bought a cake at the grocery store, but not Holley.her family gets everything home made. that's a good southern woman for ya. The local newspaper has an annual spouse and parents of the year essay contest. I'll try to remind Bub to write and submit an essay to nominate his spouse. we can't nominate our mom for the parent category because she doesn't live in Kennesaw.
